Bombshell News!! MINUTES AGO: Meri Brown slapped Kody after moving out.
Sister Wives viewers have watched Kody Brown divorce three of his four wives—including his first wife, Meri—in recent seasons. Now that things are officially over between them, Meri has made a blunt observation about her polygamist ex.
Ahead of the Dec. 15 episode of Sister Wives, TLC shared an exclusive sneak peek clip with Parade. And Meri, who recently left Flagstaff, Ariz., and moved to Parowan, Utah, didn’t hold back with her opinion.
“I don’t know why I go out of my way to be nice when he so flippantly and comfortably talks s–t about me,” she vented in a confessional with producers.
The scene then cut to Meri reading a text message to Kody after obtaining a “spiritual release” from their church, finally ending their marriage for good.
“Hi Kody, just wanted to follow up from the text I sent a couple weeks ago,” she read aloud to two of her friends. “Just wanted to let you know that I had a conversation with the leadership in Utah today, and the official release was granted.”
Back in the confessional, Meri explained that when she and Kody married in 1990, one ceremony covered both the legal and spiritual union.
Although Meri and Kody legally divorced in 2014—so he and his fourth wife, Robyn could legally marry and Kody could adopt her three children from a previous relationship—they remained spiritually married until recently.
“It was really a mind game on me because I felt like, emotionally, that I was signing away the marriage,” she explained.
The scene cut back to Meri finishing the text to Kody.
“I’m broken-hearted that our life came to this,” she read. “I will always love and respect you. Thank you for many years of joy. I hope you will truly have peace now and I release you from any responsibility or worry about me. I got this.”
As for what, exactly, Kody said about Meri that she considered “talking s–t,” viewers will have to tune in to find out.
