Contract Negotiations Are Not Progressing Well

General Hospital Spoilers reveal that contract negotiations between Disney and DirecTV are not going well. On Sunday, DirecTV subscribers received a shock when they discovered several channels were missing from their daily line up. DirecTV and Disney did not reach an agreement which meant many channels were blacked out.

Channels that have been blocked out include ENSP, ABC, FX, and Disney. So far, this has affected 11 million viewers. Rob Thun, the chief content officer at DirecTV, issued the following statement.

How Will General Hospital Be Affected By DirecTV’s ABC Blackout?

“The Walt Disney Co. is once again refusing any accountability to consumers, distribution partners, and now the American judicial system. Disney is in the business of creating alternate realities, but this is the real world where we believe you earn your way and must answer for your own actions.” Thun accuses Disney of putting profits before customers.

GH Spoilers – Disney Blames DirecTV

Disney is putting the blame right by on DirecTV, accusing them of denying their customers quality entertainment. Disney points out that DirecTV removed ESPN before a big week in sports.

Not only are the US open finals this week but football is set to start as well. Disney claims they don’t what to short change what they give to the viewers.

Disney goes on to say, “We urge DirecTV to do what’s in the best interest of their customers and finalize a deal that would immediately restore our programming.” This does strike some as funny as fans are also forming petitions against Disney for what they feel is not doing what is in the best interest of some of their employees or their views.

DirecTV Viewers Cannot Watch General Hospital

General Hospital fans have been directly affected by this decision because with ABC blacked out, fans cannot see the show. Of course, this is because Disney owns ABC.

Right now is a difficult time for viewers to miss the soap since John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) has just been killed off and Kelly Monaco , who has played Sam McCall since 2003 is about to be killed off as well.

Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) have all just returned and Lulu Spencer (last played by (Emme Rylan) needs a liver transplant.

Disney has been at odds with other tv providers as well. However, normally, they work these things out. So far, that hasn’t happened and fans are not happy.
