General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus’ Reasons For Tampering Sam’s IV Bag – Revenge Against Julian For Floating Rib “Mess Up”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that fans continue to be perplexed around Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) passing. Her meds or IV bag had to have been tampered with and the autopsy results should provide some sort of insight into this.

Still, there’s nothing more heartbreaking than watching Sam’s brother, Lucas Jones (Vans Hansis) struggle with guilt; there’s also nothing more disheartening than seeing Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) question the surgeon’s abilities.

Is this a coincidence or were Sam and Lucas targeted?

GH Spoilers: Why Would Cyrus Renault Want Sam McCall Gone?

GH spoilers hint that there’s a buzz online about Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) being behind Sam’s passing via tampering with her meds.

Injecting digitalis into her IV bag would have caused her to have a heart attack, and since everyone seems to be going on and on about all the pre-and-post-surgery tests that she passed, the autopsy is sure to reveal something suspicious.

Cyrus is a wildcard, but it still seems a little out of character (even for him) to kill someone who saved his niece’s, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins), life.

Even the idea that he did so to open the door for Lulu to reunite with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) doesn’t make that much sense.

After all, while fans know that Lulu is set to wake up, storyline-wise, at the time of Sam’s passing, Lulu’s loved ones were still praying that the transplant surgery would be successful.

General Hospital: Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)

This makes her wake up, no guarantee.

Could Cyrus’ move to kill Sam have more to do with his hatred for her father?

GH Spoilers: Killing Two Birds With One Stone

Cyrus has been seen at the hospital, here and there, a lot as of late. He’s pretty crafty, so it’s no surprise he could enter and exit rooms and other areas with ease.

But why would he go through so much trouble to get rid of Sam?

Weeks ago, Cyrus was visiting a comatose Lulu, where he promised he’d make things right. In fact, during his monologue, he shockingly still blames Julian Jerome (William DeVry) for Lulu’s condition.

Interestingly enough, it was Cyrus who ordered the Floating Rib explosion in the first place back in late 2020 – the very incident that landed Lulu with injuries, placing her into a coma.

This also means Cyrus could’ve been privy to knowing that Lucas had been assigned to Sam’s surgery, which would open up a major opportunity for revenge.

In one quick moment, not only was one of Julian’s children killed, but the other was also left struggling with grief and guilt.

Lucas could also stand to lose his job and career over this, especially if Cyrus’s plan includes making it seem as if “Dr. Jones” was the one to blame for Sam’s demise.
