As soon as Ric took Ava on as a client on General Hospital, viewers could see the sparks flying between them.
And now that their working relationship has become something much, much more personal, there’s no telling what kind of trouble these two could get into together!
“Yeah!” Rick Hearst (Ric) enthused to Soap Opera Digest. “It’s that dangerous sort of element between the two of them where there’s not a lot of rules there, except, you know, ‘Don’t cross me.’
Everything else is pretty much fair game with both of them! And you know, she has no allies other than Nina.
Nina is almost like that moral compass for her and was immediately warning her about me! Yet it almost becomes a very enticing thing for them to lean into.
I think that they definitely understand each other’s moral ambiguity and it is very much a turn-on because, again, it’s not like Ric is trying to be on his best behavior!” the actor added. “
When you meet somebody new, often you try to be the best person you can be. Ric is like, ‘No, this is me. I’m too old to turn around and go the other direction and change. You get what you get.’ And that is something that I think is very enticing to explore with her.”
The old adage says that opposites attract, and that was definitely the case when Ric was with Liz. But if Ric wanted to try and convince Liz to give him another chance, he would have to try and be that better person again.
With Ava, they’re pretty much cut from the same cloth so they could be a perfect match with very little effort!
“It’s not about having to change who and what you are,” Hearst said. “There are chapters written on him already, and she’s not only read the book, she could contribute to the forward of it! So, the ability to take a step forward with somebody like that — I think there are just a lot of possibilities there.”
