“Sister Wives”’ Meri Brown Tells Janelle She’s ‘Sorry’ She Feels the Need to ‘Protect’ Herself amid Coyote Pass Sale Drama

The TLC stars confront the “uncomfortable” topic of how the Arizona property is going to be paid off during a Nov. 10 episode of ‘Sister Wives’

Meri and Janelle Brown appear to have different opinions when it comes to their ex Kody Brown paying off their shared Coyote Pass property.

During an all-new episode of Sister Wives on Sunday, Nov. 10, Janelle confides in Meri about the status of the Flagstaff, Ariz., property that both women share with Kody and his remaining wife Robyn Brown.

As the two sit down to talk at Meri’s house, Janelle admits that she feels the need to “protect” herself when it comes to her share of the property, as she’s not confident Kody will help them pay for it. When Janelle says she thinks Meri should consider protecting herself too, Meri then replies that she is “not worried” about the situation.

“I mean, I would assume that if you, me, Robyn and Kody all came together and put money in, we could pay it off, don’t you think?” she asks, to which Janelle responds: “Yeah, but Kody keeps telling me he doesn’t have money.”

In a confessional-style clip, Janelle says Meri must think Kody “will take care of her” despite his financial situation. The scene then cuts to Meri denying she thinks that about Kody, “but what I do expect is for him to be a gentleman,” she adds.

Meri continues, “Janelle and I are entitled to some of the property as well, and I expect him to be fair with us,” referring to Kody.

As the camera cuts back to the two sitting in Meri’s house, Janelle admits, “I feel like I better protect myself.”

After a long pause, Meri says, “Sorry that you felt like that.”

“Well, I mean, I think it’s just to be logical,” Janelle responds as the camera cuts to her in a confessional scene.

“This is very uncomfortable, this is very awkward for me. I still don’t know if I can trust Meri to not go right back and report to Kody about this conversation.”

Janelle previously opened up about wanting to possibly “lawyer up” against her ex for keeping her in the dark about the status of their shared Coyote Pass plot during a Sept. 22 episode of Sister Wives.

She also claimed that she and Meri have the most to lose, as the property “represents basically the only asset we would be taking from the marriage.” (Both Janelle and Meri left the plural marriage in 2022).

The Coyote Pass property features land plots split between Kody, Robyn, Meri and Janelle, as the group initially wanted to live close to one another. Christine Brown also had a share of the land until she sold it back to Kody in August 2022 following their separation.

Christine was the first to leave the plural marriage in November 2021, shocking fans with her announcement that she and Kody had “grown apart” after more than 25 years together. With Janelle and Meri leaving the following year, Robyn now remains as Kody’s sole wife.
